July 4 Kitsap Diesel Rally was a Blast - Bremerton, Washington (2009)

This year’s 4th of July Kitsap Diesel Rally was a blast! The turnout was smaller than we’ve had at previous events due to the holiday weekend, but those who were there had a lot of fun. Of course the Dodge trucks outnumbered other brands (go Cummins!), but we did have several Duramaxes and Powerstrokes as well. TDR provided very nice Show-n-Shine plaques for Best Dodge Cummins, Best Ford Powerstroke, Best Chevy Duramax, Best Alternative Diesel, Best in Show, and People’s Choice. Geno’s Garage also gave several door prizes and a $50 gift certificate; great support for the Cummins folks! We had several entries for the chili competition, with ribbons through 3rd place and a gift certificate sponsored by Minder Meats of Bremerton, WA. Everyone got plenty to eat with potluck in addition to chili. B&B Landscaping brought one of their dump trucks loaded with sand, and we had an informal pull. It was great to see our “little” diesels tugging that big rig with sand flying! The band, Knucklehead, played late into the night and really rocked! A fun group of guys with talent to spare, they took requests from Skynard to Zeppelin and kept us dancing. Thanks to all participants and sponsors! We look forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better. "Rottin" Rhonda Kelly dieselqueenbee@yahoo.com Northwest Bombers PO Box 254 ~ Poulsbo WA 98370 (425) 269-0029

Congratulations to the Upstate Bombers on their first annual dyno day and sled pull. They filed this report:* * *The first annual Upstate Bombers Dyno Day and Sled Pull had a great turnout. Brand X Performance from New Hampshire brought their Dynojet 248 and ran 14 trucks. The high horsepower award went to James Kauffman from Bainbridge, NY with his '04 Dodge 2500 at 531 hp and 1015 tq. Second place went to Chad Taylor from Willet, NY with his '02 Dodge 2500 at 475 hp and 876 tq. The Sled Pull was put on in conjunction with the Cincinnatus Fire Department. After the usual extended wait while the gassers pulled (which was good for some carnage and a headache), the diesels pulled. The Chevys semed to rule the day, but the most impressive pull was by fellow TDR member - Michael Garofalo (also known on the TDR Website as Highfinance97) with his '97 Dodge. His TDR Grill Badge was unmistakeable coming down the track. Diesel Street 8500 class was won by Gary Aniska from Scranton, PA with an '07 Chevy; second place was captured by Travis Pushlar from Cazenovia, NY with an '01 Dodge. Diesel OpenStreet 9000 was won by Michael Garofalo of Clarks Summit, PA with a '97 Dodge; second place was captured by Travis Pushlar again with his Dodge. A great time was had by all, and the diesel trucks put on a great show at the pulls. We hope to see you at the next function of the Upstate Bombers! Peter ToombsUpstate Bombers* * To join this group, contact Peter Toombs at (315) 656-8123 or ptoombs@earthlink.net.Nice work Upstate Bombers!

The TDR Members in Ontario, Canada have been at it again. In early May, they convened to have a little fun. Thirty-eight trucks were dynoed, and they had over fifty trucks in attendance! Although they did have torrential rain (and a Chevy outdid all of the Dodges thanks to a fresh motor rebuild and nitrous), we hear they had a great time. And best of all, no one broke their trucks! Thanks for the update, Robert! For those of you located in Ontario, Canada, contact Robert Schwarzli to become part of the group. He can be reached at tdrontario@gmail.com.

Hello TDR Ontario! For all those who are interested, on Saturday May 9th the Ontario TDR will be having a Dyno Day and Truck Show at Diesel Doctors in Georgetown, Ontario! Cost is $50.00 cash, and BBQ lunch and drinks will be provided by Diesel Doctors as part of that cost! Please note though, there will be a max of about 30 trucks able to run on the dyno during the day! If you would like to run your truck on the dyno, please email me at tdrontario@gmail.com to reserve your spot! Please note, this is a first come first serve reservation! The first 30 people to reserve their spot will be the ones who get to run on the dyno! If all 30 trucks are run and we have room at the end of the day for a few more trucks, then we will be able to pick a few more at that time. If you would just like to attend the event and talk with everyone and watch the trucks run, that is fine as well. We would love to have a show in the parking lot in addition to the dyno runs. Please note, if you are just attending, there will be a $5.00 charge for you meal. If you have any questions, please let me know! I will do my best to answer them! Robert Schwarzli President - Ontario Dodge Diesel Owners "The Ontario Chapter of the TDR"

We recently received the following report from the newly-formed Ontario Chapter of the Turbo Diesel Register. If their first meeting is any indication, it looks like they're off to a great start.Well, for TDR Ontario's first meet, we were graced with frigid -17 C temperatures before wind chill, and blizzard like conditions! In all, 18 people and 10 trucks showed to shake the pavement outside of the Chinese Food Buffet! We had first, second and third generation trucks - both stock and modified - there. After introductions were made and we all had our fill of wonderful food, the room filled with conversations of our Dodge Cummins Rams including who has what parts and accessories, who has had problems and what can be done to remedy them, and what everyone's experience has been with their trucks.I conducted a quick introduction and reviewed the benefits to being a member of the TDR in the way of discounts to both Kawartha Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Hot Rod Diesel. Both of these companies will be offering Ontario TDR members a discount on parts and labour! Then our attention turned to planning for 2009.In all, it was a great turnout for the newly formed chapter! We did have many people who were not able to make it due to the weather, but we are looking forward to seeing them this summer!Thank you again to all that braved the weather and came out to support the event! It was great meeting you, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!Robert SchwarzliOntario ChapterIf you are interested in joining this group, contact Robert Schwarzli directly at tdrontario@gmail.com or 1.416.605.4154.
