Reported by TDR Member, Vaughn MacKenzie:

Warm sunny skies greeted the Northwest Bombers for their 9th Annual February BOMB Party in late February.

This tradition began in 2000.  About a dozen trucks attended the first gathering, which has been repeated every February since then with as many as fifty trucks in attendance.

The weekend got underway with large Bombvoys rolling in from the north and south at Weller’s Restaurant for breakfast.  Following breakfast, we headed out to the Hoss ranch to begin the Bombing festivities. We took advantage of the terrific new shop erected on the property to install injectors, sway bars, and much more.  The big project of the weekend was the installation of in-bumper backup lights.  The installation duo consisted of Torque Monkey and Pat_T, who quickly executed neat, slick-looking installs on eight trucks.  These two Bombers now qualify as “professional” installers!

While the Bombing action entertained, the mud pit did not disappoint.  Several Cummins-powered trucks found their way into the bog and attempted to slog through without getting stuck. Clouds of smoke and steam, growling Cummins engines, whistling turbos and the sounds of tires tearing through mud were part of the cacophony emerging from the pit. The angry, belching beasts were a sight to see wallowing through the mud. And one pint-sized 4-wheeler with “Yamaha” stamped on its tailgate had a heyday among the big diesels, its driver offering more than one adventuresome passenger a bash in the bog they’ll never forget.

All too soon the fun came to an end, the trucks and RVs cleared the property, and everyone headed home.  The effects of the fun will be visible for months to come, and the NW Bombers are very grateful to their hosts, Mark and Terry Harris for yet another terrific weekend.
