» Guinness World Record Challenge - August 25, 2012
By Robin Patton | Published 08/21/2012 | TDR - Chapter Events | Unrated
We have a event that Dodge just reached out and called our attention to!This coming weekend, in Dresden Ontario (about 1:30 from Detroit if coming from the US side), Dodge/Ram is trying to break the world record of the longest pickup parade!

So on Saturday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m., the Guinness World Record judges will be on hand to verify Ram attempting to break the record! Will it be broken? That depends on how many people show up in their Ram trucks! The old record, held by Chevy, is 250 trucks so I am sure the Ram Nation can trump that number!

If you have an interest in attending this record attempt, please come out and support the cause! Please also note the parade starts at 10:00 sharp! If you plan to attend, please be there before 10:00 a.m.! This event is open to ANY Ram pickup, gas or diesel. It must be a pickup though. SUVs and Ram Vans do not apply. There will be a grouping in a large field, then we will parade down a few roads, into the race track, do a loop, then park in the infield where there will be aerial photos taken for the record books as well as a official count.

Cost for the parade is $20 with donations going to the Canadian Mental Heath Institute. Should you decide to stay for the rodeo and festivities, your donation and participation will get you a $5.00 off coupon for the rodeo (the cost of entry would then be $15.00 and it covers all sorts of cool things! More info here:

Instructions for the meeting place are here: http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/4390081/parade-instructions-83k?da=y

Hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please let me know!

» Upstate Bombers First Annual Dyno Day and Sled Pull a Success!
By Robin Patton | Published 06/8/2009 | TDR - Chapter Events | Unrated
Congratulations to the Upstate Bombers on their first annual dyno day and sled pull.  They filed this report:

* * *
The first annual Upstate Bombers Dyno Day and Sled Pull had a great turnout. Brand X Performance from New Hampshire brought their Dynojet 248 and ran 14 trucks. The high horsepower award went to James Kauffman from Bainbridge, NY with his '04 Dodge 2500 at 531 hp and 1015 tq.  Second place went to Chad Taylor from Willet, NY with his '02 Dodge 2500 at 475 hp and 876 tq.   The Sled Pull was put on in conjunction with the Cincinnatus Fire Department. After the usual extended wait while the gassers pulled (which was good for some carnage and a headache), the diesels pulled. The Chevys semed to rule the day, but the most impressive pull was by fellow TDR member - Michael Garofalo (also known on the TDR Website as Highfinance97) with his '97 Dodge. His TDR Grill Badge was unmistakeable coming down the track.   Diesel Street 8500 class was won by Gary Aniska from Scranton, PA with an '07 Chevy; second place was captured by Travis Pushlar from Cazenovia,  NY with an '01 Dodge.  Diesel OpenStreet 9000 was won by Michael Garofalo of Clarks Summit, PA with a '97 Dodge; second place was captured by Travis Pushlar again with his Dodge.

A great time was had by all, and the diesel trucks put on a great show at the pulls. We hope to see you at the next function of the Upstate Bombers!

» TDR Ontario Chapter At It Again!
By Robin Patton | Published 05/28/2009 | TDR - Chapter Events | Unrated
The TDR Members in Ontario, Canada have been at it again. In early May, they convened to have a little fun. Thirty-eight trucks were dynoed, and they had over fifty trucks in attendance! Although they did have torrential rain (and a Chevy outdid all of the Dodges thanks to a fresh motor rebuild and nitrous), we hear they had a great time. And best of all, no one broke their trucks!

Thanks for the update, Robert!

For those of you located in Ontario, Canada, contact Robert Schwarzli to become part of the group. He can be reached at tdrontario@gmail.com.
