Manifold wall thickness vs EGT NPT size
Need some help.
I ordered a Pricol EGT gauge which came with a 1/4" NPT probe thread instead of the 1/8" it was supposed to have.
So a few questions before I return it.
1. Is there any advantage of the 1/4" NPT over the 1/8" NPT?
2. What is the wall thickness of the exhaust manifold in a 95 12V where the NPT will screw into (1/8 NPT has 27 threads per inch vs 18 TPI for the 1/4" - seems more threads in a thin wall is better).
3. Drilling a smaller hole is much easier and weekens the manifold less - does this make sense?
Thanks again for the help - hate it when the wrong hardware arrives.
Thanks,
Paul
