Coolant temp sending unit?

I flushed my coolant system today and after draining and refilling with water twice before refilling with coolant my temperature guage has quit working!

Is the sending unit on the driver side behind and below the rear engine lift bracket? If so, how in the world do I get to it?

I found a post where someone loosened and retightened the sending unit and it started working again. Oh, to be so lucky!
