Anyone ever made their own diesel? JoeD?
I am contemplating making a still to manufacture my own diesel. I have been doing a little research and found a neat organization in Boulder, CO that is sponsored by the CSU engineering department. They are running all the Univeristy deisels on recycled deep fry oil from local resteraunts. Here is there link:

The chemestry is interesting and uses Lye (sodium hydroxide) and Isopropal to catalyze titrate the oils.
Anyway, just wanted to know if there is any experience on this forum doing the chemistry before I get real involved with the tree huggers in Boulder.
