4x4 posi lock?

I tried to update my 97 by installing a 4x4 posi lock, made sense my vacuum actuator was shot and this was cheaper. the product seems simple enough,straight forward install. But i am having trouble with it, it doesn't engage all the way, just when i think its locked in it pops back out. I am really regretting the purchase as of rite now. i am wondering if any one out there has had problems. I have had it apart a bunch of times trying to figure out what is wrong. I have adjusted it multiple times, checked and rechecked. I just could use some input.
