95 Auto tranny

I have a stock 95 2500 4x4 auto and I have put over 205,000 miles on it. Over the years I have hauled some pretty major loads and have had only minor problems with the engine and none so far with the transmission. I am getting ready to purchase a camper that weighs almost 2900 lbs dry, but a friend of mine told me my truck had a weak tranny and I should be careful. Does anyone have any improvement suggestions? I would hate to be miles from civilization and have my tranny break down on me!
