Thumbs up back from vacation

Hi, everybody.
got back from Oklahoma today. Got to see lots of relatives and even my old Vo-Ag teacher. (he'd been in retirement for 10 years, and was asked back this year, or else the program would have had no teacher at all)
Northeastern Oklahoma is so pretty this time of year, compared to this Godforsaken wasteland (Southern Nevada). Gotta get used to the scenery that we do have, but first gotta get past my upcoming bout of "gvw" (green vegetation withdrawal).
Took the "scenic" route, much to the alternate delight and chagrin of my lovely spouse.
Went from LV, north to Utah, and zigzagged across the UT/AZ border, saw Lake Powell, then made our way over to the "Four Corners" area, with intent to put toes and heels in 4 states, simultaneously--"Yeehah" says my "inner redneck"----guess what? it's on Navajo tribal land and the lady closes the gate at 5:00pm,mountain time. We got there at 5:14.--no trespassing-- maybe some other time
Proceeded to Durango,CO, where we stayed overnite..very purty up there.
Next a.m. continued eastward on US 160, and didn't see CWMcCall's famous feedstore (you know, the one at the edge of downtown Pagosa Springs when the brakes went out and they rocketed down the mountain at 44,000 telephone poles an hour) (my inner redneck again)
John Denver did not sing about eastern Colorado. Holy S#!+, what a flat, unpopulated place!...my wife's written comment on US 160 was "undiscovered road"
Stayed in Springfield,CO that nite.(the Starlight Motel is owned by somebody's nice grandma) That's a nice little town in the middle of nowhere(southeastern CO).
From there, we went a little ways south, towards Campo,(actually U-turned there, when we missed the unnamed road that we used to enter Kansas). At the CO/KS border the road gets a name: Hwy 51. Ate breakfast in Elkhart, another cute little town. Good biscuits/gravy at the downtown cafe, across from the post office.
Crossed the KS/OK border there, and then proceeded eastward to Tulsa by way of Guymon, Woodward, Enid, and Stillwater. Stayed in Henryetta, near my mother-in-law's place, where she and my own mom both assaulted us with real-estate ads for move-back purposes. This time their efforts may have paid off. Found a picturesque 75acres southeast of Dewar that we might try to get.
Looking forward to the day i can change the "from:" line on the profile..
BTW- the "mule" was EXCELLENT..had one tankful that yielded 20.55mpg and two more at 18+ (this with lots of time spent running 80mph or more).
