Unhappy oil leak at inj pump base

I bought this engine new from cummins as a replacement for the 390 ford motor in my motor home. It has about 16k miles on it now. It always had a small leak around the acc drive but it was more of a nuisance than a problem. After 5k miles I installed a pump 'kit' from diesel dynamics and also changed the governor springs. I cleaned everything immaculately and replaced the pump base o-ring.After 2k miles the small oil leak came back, now its slowly getting worse.Looking at everything closely,I have noticed that the pump mounting base is a triangular shape that does not cover the o-ring groove in the acc housing fully. The question I have is do I have to diassemble the assembly again and "stuff " the groove with a bigger o-ring, or can I clean it off very well and try to squeeze high temp rtv into the 3 small "slits"? I know that its a jury rig,but its a lot of work to redo it all inside the framerails of a motorhome!

This motor is a '98-12 valve 230hp aftercooled with a bosch p7100 pump. cummins cpl is 987
