Red face Unusual Smoke????? / Turbo / Ect......

For the past 4 days I have noticed that every once in a while (about once a day) my accelerater pedal becomes very easy to push and the truck smokes a lot. (I moved the plate back to close to stock to save fuel). The truck doesn't usually smoke very much, mostly a light haze. It doesn't seem to happen at any particular time, just when it feels like it. I have also noticed that my boost guage has been bouncing a little more that usual. It usually does when the TC is locked or when towing. I have never thought much of til now. I hope its not something serious. I just put $1600 into front brakes (slotted and cross drilled of course) a radiator and a starter. The repairs are racking up.
How hard is it to remove the front covers and fix the kdp? I want to fix it before it fixes me. The front seal is also leaking so might as well do it all at once.
