Post On the fence post? Jig or washer-tab fix?

BTW, the washer-tab fix was very straight fwd to accomplish & everything was an easy job except for that stupid fan blade nut. (had to break out the Copenhagen soaked in Commemorativa for that one to remain calm

Cost was:
a seal kit pn3804899,
timing cover gasket pn3918673
total $58 delivered to my door, courtesy of Cummins Rky Mtn.

For me, after I got my stuck fan blade nut free, it was all down hill from there

My only thoughts were this. W/ the timing cover off, replacing the crankshaft seal was a snap. I don't see how one could change that seal easily w/ the timing cover in place though. W/ very little (swinging a hammer) room between it & the radiator. And I'm not sure how one could press it in place from that position.

I'm very curious how mechanics are doing the crankshaft seal w/ the timing cover still in place? I Just gotta know this!

Mike
