2nd to 3rd shifting problem
My '97 w/105k & an automatic trans. is having a problem shifting from 2nd to 3rd. It seems like it doesn't want to go into 3rd, and drops back to 2nd. It does this for a little while when the temps are around freezing, then runs fine when the truck is warmed up. If the temps are above 40, it runs fine. I did a search & couldn't find anyone having these symptons w/their truck.
While driving first thing in the AM when it is cold & the tranny's acting up, if I let off the throttle & get back on it, it seems to shift OK. Once it's warmed up, it runs fine. Is this a throttle position sensor issue?? Or something else? The fluid was last changed about 12 mos. ago(15K mi.)Thanks in advance, John
