Friend Tranny won't downshift after rebuild
Have a friend with a 96 3500 w/a recently rebuilt transmission. (This week)
The shop stated that they are having a problem downshifting the truck. Shifts fine it just won't downshift under a load or gunning it.
They also stated it wasn't receiving a signal to downshift from the injection pump.
Yes I know that the Injection pump is Manually controlled so to me this doesn't make sense.
Could it be a TPS, TSS or a kickdown cable adjustment.
My concern really is that this is a somewhat reputable shop and based on their proposed answer I think they know nothing about CTD's.
On Edit. He had been having a problem with the tranny stalling prior to the rebuild. Stalling at trffic lights and such. To me it sounds like a TPS problem. Comments?
