5TH Gear??

Ok 5th gear went out on my 97, i took the back cover off and am not really sure what i am looking at. Is the big gear set 5th gear or reverse? I am sure that the nut is on there because it wasnt laying in the bottom of the rear cover. I am at school and i dont have my manual with me so i am kinda in the dark on this deal. Any help or pics would be great. Thanks.
