rear abs problems on 96 model

hello, i have had problems lately with my rear brakes not working. we jacked up the rear end and got the truck up to 50mph and hit the brakes, the rear wheels didnt stop for another 15 seconds or more.. we just knew the master cylinder went bad, we replaced it, the rears still did not work... we were told some rebuilt master cylinders were defective right out of the box, so i spent 100 dollars and got a new one this time (a cast iron one

) well this still did not help... you pump the brake pedal and push hard and it slowly bleeds down just like a bad master cylinder... the abs light lights up when you first start the truck and goes off shortly.. its not showing theres a problem.... some one told me that it is the rear proportioning valve ... i only have rear abs... can i do away with the abs? and what would i need to do to do this... and where exactly is the proportioning valve i need to bypass ? any help would be appreciated... thanks alot... screw abs
