SNAP ON VS MILLER timing dial indicator

I was wanting to advance the timing in my 95 12V. REad the bulletin and it discusses using the miller kit, but I talked to a guy who will sell me a used snap on. IS one better than the other? Will I be able to follow the service bulletin using the snap on without a problem. I am assuming the reading will be the same.
