transmission cooler size???

I am considering putting a larger tranny cooler on my 95 auto and was wondering about the size difference in the lines? The new cooler has 3/8 inch lines and the old one has larger lines (not sure what size). Will the new one cause a restriction problem. I am going to switch to synthetic fluid at the same time i change the cooler and later when greenbacks are more available i am going to deeper pan on tranny. I am more worried about restricting the tranny fluid and causing a pressure problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
