Fluidamper question?

Im going to install a Fluidamper on my 12V but ran into a problem. Because Im cheap I called Fluidamper to see if I could use a 24V model with no notches cut into it (because I need to mill 4 notches total into mine to work with the Ford tach) and I also dont need the wiring kit and tach sensor relocation bracket. It would have saved me about $60. Anyway, when I called Fluidamper they said "Nope, cant do it, the harmonics are different and the balancer wont work well"

So I ordered a 12V model I got a good deal on from a vendor, and when I opened the box, it was a 24V one. Called my vendor and he said he spoke to the tech guy at Fluidamper and they said it would be fine to use a 24V one on the 12V.

I just want to make sure it will work, or if anyone else has any insight into this before I go "ruining" a 24V damper by cutting 4 notches in it. Thanks for any help.
