buzzing noise from t-case or auto tranny

I have recently developed a buzzing noise sorta like a bicycle chain running on it's sprockets,,comming from either the transfer case or tranny,,,i took the rubber boots of the T-case lever to better hear when driving,,it does the sound from any speed,,just louder when at higher speeds,,in any gear,,any ideas,,i'm going to change the trans oil today to see,,i have a DTT torque converted and valve body set up,,the oil looked good when i checked,,,never changed the oil in the t-case,,,about 300,000 km..
