Auto VS stick starters?

Are the starters on a 1997 auto and stick the same?

I ask as it only occured to me after. My NV5600 bolted to the engine adapter plate, I did a quick check on the starter teeth and the flywheel, all looked good.

Then that little pesky voice in the back of my head has been chomping at me for the last few weeks.....

Motor was from an auto, now it is a 5600.
