Where to put TST plate

My plate was slid forward before I got the truck but not marked. Is there a mesurment are they in diffrent places on all the trucks? I put the TST as close as I could to the middle scratch on the stock plate but it is prob. not exact it has allot of smoke and better performance but not a lot where should I move it?
