Shaker hood?

I was thinking of trying to design a shaker hood scoop (functional) that would be mounted to an air box on the inside of the hood an the passenger side, allow the use of a larger filter, but make it in such a way that for those in bad weather can remove the scoop, turn it around (rotate) screw it back on and have a cowl induction set up for the air filter, so as to keep the crap out. Fabricating the air box would be pretty easy but finding the right scoop or molding one would be harder, plus it may not work with metal hoods, seeing that there is a cross member there I think. I don't know if it would help with egts, or if current set ups are as good but the cool factor would be there the roof, with an offset functional hood scoop!!!

Just wanted to see what people thought. I don't have the tools where I am at now to start the process but the idea keeps churnig in my head. Or if would even be worth the effort. It would give you nice cold ramair.

I have my dads old 96, thanks to the KDP, (I like that pin) and he has a 2001 HO. Couldn't figure the sig out.

Thanks
Shane (Pat's son)
