Crank position sensor
Does anyone know what the spec is for the gap between the crank position sensor and the damper? How critical is this measurement?I had to remove mine to arrest a KDP and had to improvise a feeler guage from some pieces of plastic.(go/no go)
The engine fired up at the end of the job and seems to run fine.
I did have great difficulty installing the crank seal through the front of the cover. As a last resort I tried putting it in from the back using a small punch. It worked!!!! If this attempt failed I was going to take the cover and seal to my local Cummins shop to have them install the seal. Thanks again to all of you guys out there who contributed to the success of this job Although I don't post often,I read the posts often.
