KDP & Front Oil Seal

Hey guys,

My 96' has a oil leak in the front of the engine, which I beleive is the crankshaft seal. I haven't done the KDP fix either. My question is should I remove the front timing cover as to work on it on my bencg and the Tab the pin plus put the new seal in......???? I had the front cover off of a couple of B series on heavy equiptment but have never dived into one in a truck YET...! Any thought or view/exp. would be welcomed....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
