Average life of stock injectors?

After reading a post about a burned piston from a cratered injector, I wonder just how long I should keep pushing the ones in mine.I'm at 184 k miles.Whats the average life of an injector?Will you notice an injector going bad before it melts a piston?EGTs?Smoke?Temp?Loss of power?Or is the game over before you know it? I've been thinking of 215s for awhile and this might be a good reason for one more bomb.
