Fuel pump timing (how to?)

I know this subject has been around quite a bit.

Well I haven't, and I don't seem to be able to
find the spot where you search for old posts.

I like to learn more about setting the timing and
how difficult it is to do.
I seem to have some of the symptoms of retarded
timing.

Can anyone help me here?
