gear oil flush?

My 5 speed transmission is out to get completely rebuilt. When I pick up the tranny, should I put regular gear oil in it, run it without a load, and drain it before filling it with Syntorq (to flush out any debris that might be left from the rebuild), or is that an extra step I don't need to take?
