Auto Trans Fluid Question
I'm ready to install my new Mag Hy-Tek pan on my trani and noticed that the owners manual says the trani holds 17 quarts of fluid, the service manual calls out 3 or 3.5 quarts and I read in the TDR archives that it should be about 4 quarts.
I realize the standard Mag Hy-Tek pan adds 1.5 quarts extra to my year.
Could someone tell me if I just drain the fluid in the pan and replace the pan and filter, how many quarts will I need to put back in?
Also, which type fluid do I use, the 3+ or 4+, or other?
Truck is 1997 with auto trans, 46RH?
Thank you.
