Question How hot is too hot?

Hi All,

While enjoying the weather and scenery in Colorado last week, I noticed some temperatures I have never seen before. Towing my 4000 lbs travel trailer up fairly steep grades, my EGT's would hit 1350 fairly quickly, and I would have to back off the throttle to cool her down (and thus bring the speed down too ). Notice I do have the #6 plate forward. I have heard that 1200 should be the maximum level. How do I bring these down some without re-adjusting my great level of power?

Secondly, while returning to Phoenix with the A/C on in 100 degree weather, my temp gauge climbed up to about 210 on a couple pretty good hills motoring along about 70. Is this a typical figure, or should I look to cooling issues?

Thanks in advance.
~Chris
