no cruise control

I have a '97 2500 4 X 4 CTD with the cruise control not working. The truck has a Prime-Lok remote fuel filter relocation kit that has a leaking water in fuel sensor which leaked fuel on the left side inner wheel well where some cruise control conponents are located. The batteries are clean and corrosion-free. When the cruise control is turned on the indicator light on the steering wheel works, but that is all. Any help to find out what's wrong would be appreciated
