Odd problem
Tonight i was driving my 94 4dr. conversion truck, when i heard a slight noise from the engine compartment then lost oil pressure and brakes were weak. Engine still sounded fine, but i shut it down as fast as i could. I left it parked until i get time to tow it home. Seems to me like something broke in the gear cover, like the oil pump wasnt getting driven. I may be mistaken but doesnt the vacuum for the brakes somehow come from the power steering pump? If so, it must not be getting driven anymore either. Anyone seen this before?
