Question 97 12V Valve Adjustment

I am going to adjust the valves on a 97 12V that I will be putting in my Ford this winter. I have the procedure from the local Cummins shop and it says to push in the timing pin to find TDC. I can't find any pin on this motor, so how do you find TDC for valve adjustment? They also say the gap is supposed to be .010" for intake and .020" for Exahst is this correct? Anyone with some tips for this I would greatly appreciate.

Thanks
