Question mod vp44

ok guys, lets do some fixin' . all trucks made from 98.5 to '02 have a common problem . the technological wonder the VP44. its purpose by design is to accuratly proportion fuel to engine needs .sensors around the engine feed the ecm info it then sends adjustments to the pump . it then alters the flow of fuel into the chambers and the cam presses this fuel charge into the lines/injectors which "pop" and spray the excess fuel into the engine. thats the simple version ,but it doesnt seem such a stretch that a more reliable pump with perhaps better performance could be made by now .i know the hrvp44 exists but it doesnt have an impressive life span. the p-pump and common rails have fairly reliable pumps why not us? racers commonly retrofit p-pumps to 24valves to get simple upgraded reliable performance. not good for emission friendly street trucks, ive yet to see a common rail retrofit perhaps using most of the stock electronics to lessen expense. i know im not alone in this thinking so where are these solutions?? the trucks are almost ten yrs old and STILL plauged by these problems!! cant SOMEBODY step up to the plate and help us ? dare i ask, without a prohibitive cost? anybody?
