I have just arrived back in Tennessee after the long tow mentioned above. We traveled 6,634 miles to Nova Scotia and back. Almost all of the mileage was towing my 32' Cameo fifth wheel, around 14,000 pounds. Engine ran and performed flawlessly. No codes, no blips, just a sweet pulling experience. My one complaint was the rough shifting, both up and down, while in Tow/Haul with the exhaust brake engaged. Taking it out of Tow/Haul dramatically improved this condition.
My mileage averaged 11 mpg while towing, about the same as with my old '97. Certainly acceptable considering the increase in power and torque.
I talked to the dealer and he fully expects that the P2262 will come back after a few months of "everyday driving." I guess that every time I get the code, I need to throw the wife in the truck and hook up the trailer for a long haul. Probably a good idea for us as well as the truck.
