Question Engine Oil temp Gauge

Any of you 1st Gen'ers run an engine oil temp gauge? If you do where did you run the sending unit? Is there a place on the block, or do you weld a bung on the oil pan (I'm not cracy about that one ), or something else?

I have an extra hole in an A-pillar double and I'm trying to figure out what to put in it!!! (I think I left myself open on that one!! )
