Question Diff. overfilled-good/bad?

I installed a MagHytec differential cover, and I over-filled it (not intentionally) passed the second line on the dipstick. It this a good or bad thing? Both axle seals are reletively new. No leaks at the moment. How long does it take for the magnet dipstick to stop collecting particles? There are 1100-miles on it right now. Thanks in advance for any comments... Patrick
