The mother of all swaps?

I may be smoking crack here but dimensionally would a 1st gen body fit on top of a 2nd gen frame? (extended cab 4wd, dually)
I ask this as I want a late model transmission, motor, transfer case, seat etc.... And as I was thinking, I thought it would be easier to place my body on top of a decent frame. I do not have access to a second gen. for measurement purposes.
And yes I know. This would require alot of work, but I have time. I also have the space and necessary tools. The only thing that I would not want to do is have to resection the frame.
But would that not be cool? I would get to keep my 1st gen body style but have all the factory upgrades. What forum would I belong to then?
