In With The 1st Gens
All right fellas, time to tell me the secrets of the 1st Gen. Bought "Beater" and spent the morning doing the initial once over. Was interested to see that service records were in the glove compartment, which included a transmission history. These 1st Gen's are a truck in the simplist form. It just drives like a 3/4 ton should (bounce, bounce-clank, clank ). Yeah, it's got the regular stuff a 13 year old truck should have wrong with it, knob loose here trim not lined up there... and I won't mention the steering coupler . But it's nice to have a truck and not be afraid how close I park next to somebody. I now understand why you 1st Gen guys are so loyal to your trucks.
Scott
PS: If anybody has tips on doing the steering coupler or how it is to be done, please PM me.
