Shifter problem

Posted this about an hour ago and it didn't seem to work, so I'll try again... The detents for 2nd, drive and neutral seem to have blended into one big no-mans land on my 93 auto shifter. I checked in my FSM and it looks like the detents are in the valve body. Anybody ever had this problem or know how to correct it? Thanks, John.
