Lightbulb Custom Intake "Horn"

Well guys, it's in the works. After much discussion and thought, I have the parts on the bench and have made some cuts. I have some welding completed and things are looking good. (I'd have finished if I'd stay off the darn TDR)

This is how it's shaping up; 3" short radius elbow, Nelson # 89091A. Also need;
3" to 2.5" adapter O.D. to O.D. Nelson # 89253A
Using the factory tube from IC to the "horn" along with turbo hose and clamps.

I have disabled the grid heat relays and removed the old "horn" and heater grid/box. The heat grids don't look like such a restriction as does the "horn" it's self.

A 1/2" steel plate will be cut to adopt the new 3" "horn" to the intake manifold. I'll use the same style/diameter bolts to hold the new assy in place, however the bolts will have to be shorter, 1 5/8" long as opposed to the original 3 3/16th inch.

The new "horn" will fit the intake opening......."Like-a-glove" Also, the original parts are left undisturbed. Good thing if you need to re-convert it. The whole unit will clear the hood's insulation by a half inch or so (when the hood is closed) Setting the new elbow on top the grid heaters won't allow enough clearance to close the hood.

No pics as I cant post the darn things
