My Diesel is acting like its got a carburetor,

One with a flat spot.
I accelerate and once in awhile it has a flat spot just like it had a carb. Ive had this happen off idle, shifting between gears, at full throttle. Its happened at 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm. Doesn't happen all the time. It can happen in all gears, at most any rpm. The flat spot last for a second or two, enough time for the truck to lose speed and then fuel comes back on and every thing is good for a while. Max Boost is still around 20 psi. EGTs are OK.
Any one have any ideas?

Steve
