New truck checkup

My son and I just went to virginia and got a 90 w-250 4x4. The owner had already put a banks intercooler and exhaust on it as well as pyro and boost guages. It has 240k on it and has the 5 spd. It runs awsome but looking for some information on how to get a little more out of it. It will hit 20psi but every gear you have to wait way to long for the boost to hit. Any idea's?
