Twins are born!!

My Birthday present last week was the installation of twin turbos.

Went up to PDR and had them put in. Was glad I didn't try to do this myself as there was a lot of custom things that had to be made to make it fit. My PDR HX35 was reused as the top turbo and the bottom one is a 3B. Also installed a 4" exhaust as the old was too small and would need to be modified to hook up with the 4" downpipe.The preliminary boost is 53 PSI but I still need to do some pump tuning. After the test runs I pulled the top off the pump to put the modified cone back in and found fuel in the starwheel area. I got a new pump top from PDR and put it on Thursday evening with the help of Bushwacker and his brother. Was glad to have some assistance as this was new to me! THANKS BUSHWACKER AND RANDY!

On the way home the fan clutch took a dump so I had to go easy to keep coolant temps down as I was pulling the travel trailer.

One thing some of you may find interesting is the water to tranny fluid cooler was removed and discarded to make way for the bottom turbo. I have the fan assisted cooler under the bed and have a switch rigged so I can turn it on at any temp as well as having the thermoswitch turn it on at about 185 in case I forget. I tried it without the fan on a few times and the highest temp was 190 degrees. With the fan on I ran from 135 to 170. Keep in mind this was with a 7,000 pound trailer behind me. I was concerned I would have temp problems but Piers said he thought it would be fine and he was right. Oh yes, I also had a Mag HI-tECH tranny pan put on and these temps are the pan temps.

Truck ran pretty strong on the trial runs!!
