Equal Tire Balance

Has anyone had experience with Equal Tire Balancing powder/beads? Here is the link to the website http://www.imiproducts.com/equal/index.aspx. I picked up two new steer tires and when I got to the tire shop where I had dropped the wheels off, and saw no weights, I was told the used equal so as not to have to use hammer on weights on my aluminum wheels. The tires are BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's 16.5X33X12.5.

PS, my wheels don't clear the calipers with stick on weights.

I drove the truck to work this morning and didn't feel anything terrible while on Rt. 80 but I am still skeptical.
