stack out the hood?

i been thinkin bout redoin the exhaust on my truck and most of the trucks round here just run it under all the way back...so i was thinkin bout runnin mine out the hood just to be different

i have seen it on the 2nd gen pullin trucks so im just wantin to know if anybody has done this on a 1st gen and if so duz anybody have any pics of it done like this? and also how loud would it be like this? or am i better off just runnin a set of stacks in the bed?
