Rag joint position?

I installed a Borgeson steering shaft on my 92 W250 (5 spd tranny). While installing the shaft I noticed that the end of the steering shaft where the rag joint mounts is approximately 12.5" from the firewall and on my 93 W250 (auto tranny) it is 10.5" inches from the firewall. Anyway, the clearence between the inner fender and the rag joint is pretty tight on the 92.
Anybody know what the factory measurement should be?
