The rebuild begins...

Well, the time has come to un-toast the motor and have as much fun as the pocketbook will allow.
Anyone have any recommendations for a machine shop to bore the block and turn the crank in the Salt Lake City, UT; Grand Junction, CO; or Farmington, NM areas? (I kinda live between the three places and travel to all three)

I want to build the truck to the ~300 - 350 HP range. In my ideal world I would like the valet switch to get me driveablity and mileage and keep my teenager alive and still give me power when I need (want) it.

HTT convinced me that their H1C Stage II modification (58mm) would give me a nice compromise between those two options up to ~350 HP. That will hook up to a port matched 16 cm housing.

Injectors... the old POD vs. 190's debate. How much power difference is there between them if I don't put in an Old Smoky pin and just rely on pump tweaks and maybe the dremel tool.
What mileage difference on the low power end between the two?

The pump shop I went to in SLC recommended against the Fuel pin. Was that unfamiliarity with the 1st Gen pump or is there some daily driver reason not to go with the pin?

I will be using the truck as a daily driver and car hauler. I won't tow the backhoe (14k) until I strengthen the tranny.

Thanks for any help with this project. I predict that it will be a little different than a Stude or Mopar gasser.
