installed new governor spring truck wont stay running

First i would like to say im new to the forum and this is agreat site with lots of info.I installed a 3200 rpm spring today and can only get truck to start with the pedal down it starts but wont stay running when i let pedal go? I'm thinking i have the index on the throttle shaft off? What should i try next?
