...back in the saddle...

Howdy peoples -

Contrary to popular belief I'm really not dead. Some of you know my '93 got forceably removed from the road by a Ford Ranger early last year (the Ranger steeped out of line in front of us as we were doing 55 mph, whammo), and recently I had a good look at the frame, and it's mortally wounded. So, started looking for another 1st gen (of course ) to replace my wounded '93, and found one. Found it Thursday in Phoenix, struck a deal Friday, flew to Phoenix early Saturday, made the deal...and drove it back. I am one lucky sum-beyotch because I think it is the nicest 1st gen I have ever seen.
Paid $9k, looks mint and drives perfectly, and had 93k miles on the odo. Yup, no typo - less than 100k miles . Made the 13-hr drive no sweat at 75-80 mph, ~19 mpg. Zero rust, no dings, power everything. It's in excellent shape and the interior is awesome.

So what about my wounded '93? Well, the frame is hurt, but the driveline isn't, so it all comes out and I'll strip the frame, keep the stuff I want and sell the rest. I already have a guy that wants the driveline. The cab and bed will be stored for the future Megacab project (if I ever do it), which will include a fusion of the green club cab and silver crew cab...just waiting for their turn.

Right now I'm looking at a move within 6 months, so the prioroty is getting ready for that, which included a truck that's running and driving, which is where this new '93 comes in.
Great find - extremely nice rig, very happy about the whole deal.

As it sits the rig needs nothing. But, that of course doesn't mean it won't get a few goodies, like a good converter, deep pan, gauges, then probably an HX-35/16, a set of injectors, the usual pump tweaks, and, of course, one of my Intakes. I'll make it more or less the same configuration as the other one. With winter coming and getting ready for the move I sure as heck didn't have time or energy for fixing the green meanie, so, that makes looking for a new rig a no-brainer.
